Philadelphia man charged with stealing rent checks and money orders from apartment complex

A six-month-long investigation into the theft of rent checks and money orders from a secure box at the Windsor Castle apartment complex led to the arrest of a Philadelphia man Dec. 20, according to the East Windsor Police Department.

The 25-year-old man was observed allegedly removing the checks and money orders from the drop box at 3:59 a.m. June 5, police said. He returned to the drop box the next day and was observed allegedly taking more checks and money orders at 3:44 a.m.

The checks and money orders were forged and used at later dates in various locations, police said.

The charges were placed on a summons, pending court action, police said.
