Highland Park man charged with theft at Princeton Junction train station

A Highland Park man was charged with burglary of a motor vehicle, theft and credit card theft after police responded to a disturbance at the Princeton Junction train station Oct. 18, according to the West Windsor Police Department.

When police officers arrived at the Princeton Junction train station parking lot, the victim pointed out the Highland Park man as the suspect who had allegedly burglarized his vehicle.

The suspect allegedly entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and stole the victim’s driver’s license, work identification and credit cards from his wallet, police said.

When the victim saw him sitting in the driver’s seat of his car, he confronted the suspect, police said. The man walked away from him.

During the investigation, the suspect was allegedly found to be in possession of the victim’s property. He was allegedly also found to have a wallet belonging to another person in his possession, police said.

The man was processed and released.
