Hopewell Township Committee incumbents lead Republican challengers

Incumbent Democratic Committeemen Michael Ruger and Kevin Kuchinski lead Republican candidate challengers Jennifer DiDonato and Daniel Hanley Jr. in the race for two seats on the Township Committee.

For the two three-year terms, Ruger, who currently serves as mayor, has received 2,861 votes and Kuchinski has earned 2,842 votes. DiDonato has secured 1,586 votes and Hanley Jr. received 1,533 votes, according to unofficial election results reported by the Mercer County Clerk’s Office as of Nov. 8.

The results from the Nov. 7 general election will remain unofficial until they are certified by the Mercer County Clerk’s Office by Nov. 22.

The Township Committee consists entirely of Democrats as Ruger and Kuchinski are joined by Deputy Mayor Courtney Peters-Manning, Committeewoman Uma Purandare, and Committeeman David Chait.
