A 40-year-old Jamesburg resident was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, failure to maintain lane and having an obstructed license plate on Route 571 June 28. The driver, who was stopped for weaving, was processed and released.

A 24-year-old Hamilton Township woman was charged with shoplifting for allegedly taking items valued at $441.45 from ShopRite June 28. She was processed and released.

A 31-year-old East Windsor Township man was charged with driving under the influence after a police officer saw his car stopped on Route 571, partially blocking the road on June 25. He allegedly showed signs of impairment and was also charged with careless driving, reckless driving, being an unlicensed driver and having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle. He was processed and released.

A 23-year-old Scotch Plains man, an employee of Walmart, was charged with theft for allegedly taking $400 in cash from a purse that had been left in a restroom by a customer June 16. He was processed and released.

A 33-year-old North Brunswick Township man was charged with shoplifting for allegedly attempting to leave ShopRite without paying for $191.63 worth of merchandise June 16. He was also found to have an outstanding warrant from another town and was taken to the Middlesex County Correctional Center.
