The 2022 World Diversity Day Children’s Festival has been postponed. The event, originally scheduled for May 21 at Lake Topanemus Park, Freehold Township, will be held on Oct. 8, according to a statement issued by the event’s organizers today, May 20.

Festival organizers apologized for the short notice and said the reason for the cancellation is due to the fact that many of the organizers, volunteers, performers and exhibitors have contracted COVID.

“We are concerned about spreading illness to the children and families who attend the festival,” said Rick Aaronson, speaking for the World Diversity Day committee he helped form. “We look forward to bringing everyone a fun, informative and safe experience in October.”
