Bordentown Township Police Chief Brian Pesce is set for a hearing in a few weeks after being charged with five traffic violations stemming from a car accident that occurred in Hamilton Township on April 22.
Pesce, who is a resident of Hamilton, was found around 10:25 p.m. that night in the University Heights neighborhood by Hamilton Township police officers to be “intoxicated” while driving a maroon pickup truck after leaving the scene of an accident, according to court reports.
The five charges that Pesce is being charged with are drunken driving, reckless and careless driving, leaving the scene of an accident involving property damage, and failing to report an accident.
Pesce pleaded not guilty to those charges a few days following the accident, according to his lawyer John Hartmann, who declined to comment further on the incident.
Pesce has been a part of the Bordentown Township Police Department for the last 23 years and was promoted to chief of police in 2018 following the termination of former Chief Frank Nucera.
