Jackowski slightly ahead in race for seat on Hopewell Township Committee

In a contested race for an open seat on the Hopewell Township Committee, Republican candidate Ed Jackowski is slightly ahead for the three-year term.

The election results listed reflect what has been posted online by the Mercer County Clerk’s Office as of Nov. 3. Mail-in ballots and provisional ballots are still being counted.

The results of the Nov. 2 election will remain unofficial until they are certified by the county.

Jackowski squared off against Democrat Uma Purandare during the 2021 general election.

Jackowski received 2,289 votes and Purandare received 2,227 votes as of press time.
