Six officers join Hillsborough Township Police Department

The Township Committee acted on the recommendation of the chief of police and hired six new police officers for the Hillsborough Police Department.
“There exists various vacancies within the department and after a thorough search and interview process of very capable top candidates we are able to hire these officers to fill those vacancies,” Mayor Shawn Lipani said after the Aug. 10 Township Committee meeting.
“I’d like to congratulate these candidates on their completion of the rigorous interviewing process and the police department looks forward to having them join our ranks,”  Hillsborough Township Police Chief Mike McMahon said, according to a statement provided by the committee.
The officers were joined by their families, McMahon and Lipani for the swearing in ceremony on Aug. 11.
