Chelsea communities to receive COVID-19 vaccine

Vaccinations are available for residents and staff of Chelsea Senior Living communities.

Receiving the vaccine will be voluntary. However, Chelsea founder and CEO Herb Heflich and President and COO Roger Bernier both received vaccines to set an example for their safety.

“We ask all of our residents and staff to help us keep everyone in our buildings safe and healthy,” Bernier said in a prepared statement. “To that end, we strongly urge everyone to be vaccinated. The vaccine has been exhaustively tested and approved by the FDA and CDC and is said to be at least 95% effective in preventing illness due to COVID-19.”

The vaccine, given in two injections a month apart, will be administered by trained pharmacists from CVS, which is handling vaccines for thousands of long term care residents and staff nationwide.
