Hillsborough Township Public Schools District officials announced that the Hillsborough Township Board of Education (BOE) and the Hillsborough Education Association (HEA) came to a tentative agreement on a new three-year contract.

Officials said the tentative deal was reached on Dec. 19 after both sides met with a fact finder for approximately six hours. The HEA and BOE have been negotiating since November 2018 for a contract, which expired in June.

The Dec. 19 meeting was the first meeting with the state appointed fact finder, officials said. The terms of the tentative agreement will not be made public until it is ratified by the union and the school board.

“Both parties look forward to ratification over the next several weeks and continuing to focus on ensuring the best education for our students,” officials said in a joint statement.
