New faces elected to Mansfield committee and school board

Mansfield Township will see some new faces on the township committee and school board after this week’s election.

With two candidates vying for one open seat on the five-person Mansfield Township Committee, Republican candidate Rudolph Ocello claimed the vacancy over independent candidate Arthur Puglia. Ocello received 1,438 votes. Puglia received 583 votes.

Meanwhile, the Mansfield Township School District Board of Education had four candidates competing for three vacancies on the school board. The candidates were Abbey True Harris, Jared Fantasia, Stephen Thomas and Nikolas Vrettos.

School board incumbents Harris and Fantasia were reelected to their seats while Thomas was also elected to the board. Harris received 1,104 votes. Thomas received 1,040 votes. Fantasia received 928 votes and Vrettos received 854 votes.
