Police allege that an individual forcibly entered a rear door of the home and stole various possessions from within the residence.

On the following day, Oct. 4, police say a similar attempted burglary occurred in the same neighborhood at a Henry Marshall Drive residence. In that instance, police say the perpetrator attempted to enter to the home from a rear door and window.

Township police spoke with several homeowners who reported observing a light-skinned black male in the area during the time frame of both incidents. This male was wearing a white t-shirt with a stripe and was observed operating a gray sedan. This is the only available description of the individual at this time.

Police believe the man was seen in the area posing as a solicitor. Residents reported that the man knocked on the door of one home and was later spotted in the backyard of another residence. Neither incident was reported to police.

Officials are asking residents to contact the local police department immediately at 609-298-4300 or 911 to report any suspicious activity or persons.

Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Joseph Ciabattoni at 609-298-4300, ext. 2142.
