Raritan Bay Medical Center to hold health programs

Hackensack Meridian Health Raritan Bay Medical Center will hold the following programs at its Old Bridge location:

  • The Human Motion Institute will offer a free Total Joint Replacement Education session from 8-9 a.m. on May 8, 15, 22 and 29 in the Patient Education Center, 1st Floor, Medical and Surgical Pavilion, 2 Hospital Plaza.  The session is intended for patients who have been scheduled for joint replacement surgery or for those who would like to learn more about joint replacement. Registration required by calling 1-800-560-9990.
  • The Institute for Weight Loss will hold “Is Weight Loss Surgery Right for Me?” from 7-8 p.m. on May 9 and 14, and from 7:30-8:30 p.m. on May 23, at the Medical Arts Building, Suite 404, 3 Hospital Plaza. Board certified general and bariatric surgeon Bennet Togbe will discuss weight loss surgery including Roux-En-Y Gastric Bypass, Adjusting Gastric Banding, and Gastric Sleeve, and the concerns surrounding weight loss surgery as well as its successes. Family and friends are welcome. Registration required by calling 1-855-TIME-4-ME.
  • The Institute of Weight Loss will hold a Bariatric Weight Loss Support Group meeting from 6-7 p.m. on May 23 in Auxiliary Hall B, 1 Hospital Plaza, Old Bridge, NJ. The meeting is for individuals who have had surgery, are contemplating weight loss surgery or are trying to maintain a healthy weight. Family and friends are welcome.   Registration required, call 1-855-TIME-4-ME (1.855.846.3463).
  • An Angioscreen event will be held from 1-7:30 p.m. on May 31 in Auxiliary Hall B&C, 1 Hospital Plaza. Learn your risk of heart attack and stroke. Screenings include carotid artery ultrasound, heart rhythm, blood pressure and screening for abdominal aortic aneurysm and peripheral artery disease. Receive a color report of your findings, education materials and consultation with a registered nurse. The cost is $49.95. Registration required by calling 1-800-560-9990.
