I felt a need to comment on your article referencing Gov. Christie and the sprucing up of the Hillsborough schools. It is obvious that (Education Association President Henry) Mr. Goodhue and his association have animus towards the governor.
Would he have made such comments about the school improvements had it been President Obama, Hillary Clinton or a celebrity visiting? I think not! As (Business Administrator Aiman) Mr. Mamoud, (Superintendent Jorden) Mr. Schiff and (board member Steven) Mr. Cohen stated, it is only right to show pride in the school and respect for the state office of the governor.
This is something that the teachers unions and associations don’t know anything about. The only concern about the school funding cuts they have are about themselves and how that is going to affect their pockets.
The governor’s Fairness Formula will be a start to fixing a broken system. The Abbott district funding has been a failed system from day one. Mr. Goodhue should review the statistics before he spews criticism.
As a taxpayer in the Hillsborough Township I will welcome the funding cuts, as well as a visit from my governor.
